Victoria Street Ages, Edinburgh

Description

"Welcome,” said Hagrid, “to Diagon Alley.” He grinned at Harry's amazement. “Cauldrons – All Sizes – Copper, Brass, Pewter, Silver – Self-Stirring – Collapsible,” said a sign hanging over them. -J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

.

Edinburgh is full of interesting people. I stood on Victoria Street for awhile looking for a good picture. I love this one because it is a mix of ages on a street that also is a collection of buildings from different ages. Old Town dates back to the 7th century but the "new" buildings on Victoria Street were built in the early 1830s. This street is also popularly thought to have inspired Rowling to write about Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter books.
