Creation...that passion in a bottle that bubbles over and makes physical that which is invisible. Fire and explosions created this lake. And now, it is filled with water, and the rock is covered with tiny plants. But as I stood there, I could almost feel that magma simmering below in the core of the earth.

Kerid Crater is about 3000 years old, so, fairly young! Its iron deposits from the eruption cause the surrounding area to have the reddish color.
