The many faces of Eilean Donan. One of the most photographed castles and one of the newest castles after it was restored in 1932. It actually dates back to the 13th century, a defense against the Vikings. It was blown up in the Jacobite uprising in 1719 and sat in ruins until  Lt Colonel John Macrae-Gilstrap bought the island.
